Solar Kaihdin Oy
Solar Kaihdin Oy was founded in 1988 (Kalajoen Kaihdin Oy). We manufacture venetian blinds, pleated blinds and insect screens for windows and doors, primarily for the manufacturing industry and retailers, as well as for consumers via our online shop. Solar Kaihdin Oy’s modern production facilities are located in Kalajoki.
We value domestic manufacturing; all our products are made in Finland.
Our products have been awarded the Avainlippu symbol.
Our strengths include high-quality products, smooth collaboration, reliability and on-time delivery. We always deliver products on the date agreed with the customer.
For us, continuous improvement is one of the cornerstones of our operations. By developing our operations, we create an efficient, safe and functional working environment. The LEAN approach has been integrated into our production and is an important part of our development. Through continuous improvement, we ensure that our production remains well-managed and efficient. With modern production methods, a production control system and a quality management system, Solar Kaihdin Oy serves you reliably, flexibly and quickly.
We are able to meet changing demands thanks to continuous development. We encourage our staff to learn and come up with new ideas. The well-rounded development of our employees’ skills is one of our core values.
Staff wellbeing is important, and we encourage our staff to prioritise their wellbeing. To support wellbeing, we offer benefits relating to exercise and wellbeing services. We foster a positive atmosphere through initiatives such as workplace wellbeing days, monthly progress reviews and the weekly snack break provided by Solar.
At Solar, we value nature and the environment. SOLAR – love the sun. 220 solar panels were installed at Solar in autumn 2018. The solar power plant covers around 20 per cent of Solar Kaihdin Oy’s electricity consumption. We hope for plenty of sunny days!
We recycle the waste generated during the production process. We recycle metals, waste cardboard and packaging cardboard. Solar works in partnership with its factory customers to reuse packaging cardboard; customers return the packaging cardboard to us and we reuse it. The same packaging cardboard can be reused up to seven times!
